The Gorges du Verdon

Packages to discover or rediscover the Gorges du Verdon in Provence

The Gorges du Verdon are the result of erosion by the waters of the Verdon and the passage of time. The most popular and prestigious are the high gorges upstream from Lac de Sainte-Croix, the deepest in Europe, but the low gorges downstream from the lake towards Montpezat and Saint-Laurent du Verdon are not to be missed. Your accommodation, the Ferme du Petit Ségriès, is halfway between the two sites.

Here you can enjoy a wide range of activities:
By car, motorcycle or minibus: go right bank without forgetting the route des crêtes, return left bank via the sublime Corniche, it takes about 110km, enough to keep you busy for a whole day if you stop at the many belvederes and visit the pretty villages along the way: La Palud, Rougon, Trigance, Aiguines. You can also take advantage of Provisito ‘s guided minibus tours.

By road bike: you’ll take the same route as for cars, a beautiful selective itinerary.

Hiking: the Blanc Martel trail, the Bastidon, L’Imbut, the Grand Margès, as well as beautiful views of the Verdon from the Ourbès and Plein Voir crests. The upper gorges are deeper and steeper, while the lower gorges are more accessible for hikers not used to mountain trekking.
For all these hikes, please consult us once you’re on site, as not all of them are accessible to everyone, and we can lend you hiking maps. See also our article on hiking in the Verdon.

Whitewater: floating, water trekking, rafting
Canoe, kayak, pedal boat, electric boat: on the lake or from the Galetas bridge towards the Saint Maurin waterfalls, the end of the high Verdon gorges or the Baudinard gorges, you are already in the lower Verdon gorges; back and forth in the gorges: lovely, quiet walks.
